I am Sofna Devaraj, from Ooty and now live in Vernon Hills with my husband and two kids. I believe Learning a language helps you appreciate its culture and heritage and pass them on to our future generation, and communicating in our mother tongue deepens our relationship with the loved ones. I am happy and excited to be part of Annai Tamil Academy. Looking forward to starting a new journey with the team !!

 I’m Jasmin Thasleem. I’m originally from Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, and now resides in Plainfield. I have previously taught Tamil for several years before taking a break. I’m excited to reignite my passion for teaching with Annai Tamil Academy. I look forward to helping kids learn our mother tongue and collaborating with fellow educators. 

I am Rajha Rajamurthi, and I live in Buffalo Grove, IL, with my wife, son, and daughter. My wife and extended family in India serve Tamil a lot, but I didn’t and felt guilty about it. This is a fantastic opportunity to serve Tamil and give back to the Annai Tamil Academy (ATA), where my daughter studies. I am happy to meet our future generation, share knowledge, and learn from them. 

I am Janani Chandramohan, and I’m a senior high school this year. I grew up in India for the first five years of my life and have continued my learning of Tamil since. Tamil School has helped me discover a lot more about my culture, and I signed up to volunteer in hopes of encouraging and motivating students to always stay curious about Tamil.

I am Dr. Nambirajan Thangasamy from Pondicherry, India. I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Regional Engineering College (presently known as National Institute of Technology), Tiruchirappalli. I have completed an M.B.A. from the University of Madras and have completed a Ph.D. in management from Pondicherry University. I have taught M.B.A. students at NIT Tiruchirappalli and also worked as a Computer Programmer at Sundaram Motors (TVS group). I worked as full time faculty member (Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Full Professor) at the Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University. I am excited to be associated with Annai Tamil Academy on this volunteering opportunity. I am happy to be part of Annai Tamil Academy to spread the Tamil language and culture. 

Hello! I'm Durga Kamalesh, residing in Naperville, Illinois. I hold an MBA and have experience working as HR. I'm delighted to volunteer at Annai Tamil Academy. I've had the pleasure of teaching Mathematics, Tamil, and English. I'm enthusiastic about engaging with young students and eager to support them in their learning journey. 

I am Saru Govindasamy and I’ve lived in the suburbs of Chicago for over twenty years. Both of my sons grew up here attending District 204 schools. Alongside an ECE Engineering diploma from India, I earned a business degree from Northern Illinois University and a CPA. These experiences paved the way for my path into the corporate banking industry, where I’ve been working for over a decade. Coming from a teacher’s family, I’m very happy and proud to teach and am looking forward to giving back to our community.

I am Nithya Sabry  from Chicago area, living here since 2009 with my husband and 2 kids. I did my bachelors degree in Information technology and worked as a Software Engineer for several years. I am passionate to teach Tamil to kids and help grow the tamil community. I love to be be part of ATA and will be assisting in Admin as well as teaching Tamil to Gen-Z.

I am Saravanadevi, currently living in Vernon hills, with my husband and son. Teaching Tamil to next generation is one of the best ways to give back to our community and I am happy to associate myself with Annai Tamil Academy for that purpose. I am excited and looking forward to work with the young minds. 

I am Manimekalai S Pandidurai, a resident of Chicagoland with 2 beautiful children. My journey started as a volunteer Tamil teacher from 2013 with the verge to teach our rich language and its varied culture to pass on. Have participated in Pattimandrangal(Speaker), Vivaadha Medaigal (Debates) and acted as emcee (Master of Ceremonies) for many Tamil events. I am proud parent, as my daughter Shrieya has obtained the Seal of Biliteracy for Tamil and she is the 1st student in Illinois to obtain the state seal. I have guided multiple students for SOB and my journey will continue forever.

My name is Adithi Govindaraju, I live in Round Lake, Illinois and I’m currently a junior at Grayslake Central High School. I started Tamil school in 4th grade and continued until my sophomore year of high school. I’ve spoken Tamil my entire life and have been exposed to its beautiful culture. I have attained the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy for Tamil and I’m happy to be part of Annai Tamil Academy to share my knowledge and help others learn.  

My name is Jayashri Madan, a senior at Grayslake North High School. I was born in Chennai, India, and moved to Chicago at a young age. My Tamil journey began at the age of five (Kindergarten) and I have attained the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy for Tamil, last year. I would like share my experience on Tamil Biliteracy and I am so excited to be a part of Annai Tamil Academy to serve and contribute to the growth of Tamil.

I am Nakshatra Jayaprakash. I am currently a junior at Metea Valley High school. I started learning Tamil at home, when I was 5 years old and attended Tamil school until sophomore year of High school. I always love teaching kids and happy to volunteer at Annai Tamil Academy, I hope to strengthen my ties to my culture and encourage the upcoming generation to do the same. 

My name is Keerthivasan Manohar. I have lived in various Northwest suburbs of Chicagoland since 2014. My day job is building software for a electronic document management company and my night job is to care for two lovely kids at home. Beyond technology, I'm a passionate reader of Tamil literature from classics to new-age writers. I've taught computer basics to toddlers in India for a year previously and enjoyed it immensely. I am excited to be associated with ATA on this volunteering opportunity. Let's work together to not only spread the Tamil language but also to explore the vibrant cultural tapestry it weaves.

I am Vijaya Chandrika Prabhu, a resident of Lake Bluff, IL, while my roots trace back to the city of Chennai. I completed my post-graduation and went on to contribute my skills to a prominent multinational bank back in India before moving to USA. I now find myself as a part of Annai Tamil Academy, where I am excited to contribute, learn, and grow within this enriching community.

My name is Gunasankar Chinnu. I am from Salem and just started living in Chicagoland since 2022. I graduated as an Electrical Engineer. I am excited to take this opportunity to educate young hero’s with the richness of our great language Tamil. I am looking forward to collaborate with other teachers and have a pleasant learning experience with the kids from Annai Tamil Academy. 

I am Shakthivinaya Sathish. I have completed my engineering degree in Electronics and Communication and currently live with my husband and two daughters in Aurora. I speak English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and also German a little bit. I am very  glad to be  a part  of Annai Tamil  Academy. 

I am Venkatachalam G. Sellappan, born in Pudupalayam, Sankari Taluk, Salem District, Tamilnadu and I lived there till my high school. Educationally, I have done my B.E. Computer Science in Coimbatore and MBA at U.I.C Chicago. Teaching Tamil to next generation kids is one of the best ways of tamil cause and I am happy to associate myself with Annai Tamil Academy.

I am Rahima Begum and I reside  in Aurora, Illinois with my Husband and two Kids. I had worked as a teacher in Kallakurichi, Tamilnadu and would like to continue the teaching journey here by volunteering with ATA. I am really excited to be a part of this team and looking forward to teach the kids as well as spending time with them. 

I am Suguna Satheesh, I live in Aurora, Illinois with my husband and two daughters. I worked as a teacher in Chennai, Tamilnadu and would like to continue the teaching journey. And am excited to be a part of Annai Tamil Academy.  Looking forward to working with kids and spending time with them.

I am Nivedhitha Mathan Kumar, originally from Chennai, I recently moved to the US for my Masters program at Georgia Tech. I am currently working as a UX designer at a startup in Atlanta. Having worked as a Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech, I am excited to continue teaching! I am thankful for the opportunity provided by Annai Tamil Academy and I look forward to meeting the children :) 

I’m Vijaygovindhan Muthukrishnan residing in Aurora , IL with my wife and 2 sons. I was born in Tiruppur, Tamilnadu. I work for a trust bank as a senior developer. I am happy and excited to volunteer for Annai Tamil Academy. 

I am Monisha Manivannan from Namakkal. Live in Schaumburg, IL from, 2022 with my husband, son and daughter. I am being into IT industry for 10+ years. I just took the opportunity given by ATA and very happy to be part of volunteer team. Looking forward to help our kids to learn and importance of our native language. 

My name is Harini Ramkumar, and I am currently an eighth grader at Crone Middle School. I live in Bolingbrook, Illinois. I started taking part in Tamil classes since I was in kindergarten and continued until seventh grade. My entire life I have spoken Tamil, and have been shown its uniqueness. By volunteering at Annai Tamil Academy, I wish to share what I know to help other students learn such an ancient language.

I am Krithika from Chennai. We recently moved to Naperville from NJ. I am always passionate about kids speak Tamil wherever we are, and hence I always wish to be part of a Tamil teaching group. I was teaching Tamil in Kurinji Tamil Palli at NJ and now happy to continue my journey at Annai Tamil Academy.   Looking forward to see the kids.

I am Revathy Ganesh Kumar. I recently moved to Naperville from India. I live with my husband, daughter and a son. I have 8 years of experience in IT and it's my passion to teach my mother tongue Tamil, to kids. I am very happy to be part of Annai Tamil Academy and I thank ATA for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I am excited to see the kids !!

மகிழ்வணக்கம், நான் முனைவர் ப. சு. மகேஸ்வரி. பிறந்த ஊர் தமிழக மலைகளின் அரசியாக விளங்கும் உதகை. நான் ஈரோடு வேளாளர் மகளிர் கல்லூரியில் 2017ஆம் ஆண்டு உதவிப்பேராசிரியராக பணிப்புரிந்துள்ளேன். அதன் பிறகு முனைவர் பட்டம் (Ph.D) பயில்வதற்காக பாரதியார் பல்கலைக்கழத்தில் ”நா.முத்துக்குமாரின் படைப்புக்கலை” என்னும் ஆய்வுப் பொருண்மையில் எனது முனைவர் பட்டத்தை முடித்தேன். யாழ்பாணத்தில் நடைப்பெற்ற இரண்டாவது திருக்குறள் மாநாட்டில் ”குறள் ஆய்வுச் செம்மல்” விருது பெற்றுள்ளேன். பிறகு 2021-ஆம் ஆண்டு அ.த.க-வில் எனது பணியைத் துவங்கினேன். அன்று முதல் அ.த.க-வுடன் இணைந்து அமெரிக்கத் தமிழ் மாணவர்களின் தமிழ் அறிவு வளர்ச்சிக்கு வழிகாட்டுதலாக செயல்பட்டு வருகிறேன். உலகெங்கிலும் தமிழ் பரவ, தமிழ்ப் பிள்ளைகள் எங்கெங்கு காணினும் தமிழ்ப் பேச நிறைந்த தமிழ் கற்பித்தலுக்குத் தோள் கொடுப்பதே அறப்பணியாக எண்ணுகிறேன்.

I am Sangeetha Sankarlal, currently residing in Aurora, Illinois with my Husband and two daughters. Prior to moving to us, I worked as a college lecturer (Statistics) for a couple of years in Salem, Tamilnadu. Both of my daughters study Tamil for quite some time and while sitting with them during online classes, I realized that Tamil can be taught even more interesting and engaging ways. I got impressed by Annai Tamil Academy's syllabus and thought I can also contribute by becoming a volunteer. Very excited to be part of the teaching community of ATA.  

I am Priyadarsini Manivannan. Born and raised in Chennai and live in Lincolnshire IL with my husband and two daughters. My passion towards Tamil as a language and culture led me to start teaching Tamil to kids who are in a foreign land where English has been the primary language to communicate. I began teaching in 2017 and I love to spend time with the children; help them to speak and learn the importance of their mother-tongue. I am excited and looking forward to teaching the kids 

I am Vijaya from Chennai. We recently moved to Aurora, after enjoying my stay in the serene city of Peoria, IL. My teaching journey started in 2019 at Peoria Tamilpalli, and I am happy to continue with Annai Tamil Academy. I am excited and looking forward to spending time with kids and helping them learn Tamil.

I am Senthil Priya.  I have been a resident of Naperville for the past 14 years. I am originally from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. I am blessed to have a wonderful family, a better actually, a best husband, and two loving children. I have never given up my passion and interest for Art, Music, Tamil and the business I own. I took the opportunity given by Annai Tamil Academy (ATA) to be a Teacher in means to make the best use of my time. Lastly, I am glad to be part of ATA and I look forward to teaching Tamil and it’s values to kids as much as possible. 

I am Deepa Samiappan. I live in Buffalo Grove, IL and I have been teaching Tamil for the past 2 years. I am glad to teach our mother tongue to young children's and have been associated with ATA since 2021. I am happy to be part of this academy. I am excited and looking forward to meeting the kids. 

I am Kalaiselvi Krishnan. I was born in Thiruthuraipoondi, Tamilnadu  . I have been teaching Tamil for the past 4 years in Indiana Tamil school, and have been associated with Annai Tamil Academy since 2021. I live in Aurora with my husband , high school daughter and a middle school son. It is my pleasure to work with younger kids to teach them their mother tongue. I am excited and looking forward to teach the kids.

I am Ramya Veerappan, I have been teaching Tamil for the past ten years and have been associated with Annai Tamil Academy since 2021, I live in Gurnee with my husband and two daughters. They both learn Tamil at Annai Tamil Academy. I also serve the board to take challenges that kids, parents and teachers may have/face and I am very excited and looking forward to teach the kids.  

I am Nithya Kalyanasundaram.  I have completed my engineering degree from a college in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. I have also worked in the software industry for some time.  I am glad to teach our mother tongue to young children growing up in American soil and happy to be part of Annai Tamil Academy. I live with my husband, daughter and a son - a beautiful family. Thank you.

I am Neelam Saboo from Naperville IL. I am passionate about Tamil literature and its rich culture/history. It is my pleasure to volunteer for Annai Tamil Academy as an "Accountant". I have been in the accounting / finance domain for the past 20+ years and I am sure every day is something new to learn. I believe in giving back to the community I live and I am happy to associate with ATA.

I am Ranju Maheshwari, an Enrolled Agent, the highest credentials that IRS awards, representing clients with the IRS for Tax Preparation and Tax Matters for individuals, businesses and non-profit since 2012. We also provides Payroll and Bookkeeping services for businesses and ITIN services (Certified Acceptance Agent with IRS). I am happy to be associated with Annai Tamil Academy for all their tax needs.  As an Illinois Notary Public, I can provide a free Notary Public services to Annai Tamil Academy members.

I am Sheela Rameshbabu, I am from Chennai and now live in Aurora with my husband and two kids. I have 3 years of experience working in school. I’m passionate about Tamil and I’m happy to be part of this Annai Tamil Academy. I am excited and looking forward to teach Tamil !   

My name is Bright Kasimani. I am from Chennai and have been living in Chicagoland since 2013. I graduated as an Electrical Engineer and work in an IT company as Application Modernization Architect. I am humbled for this wonderful opportunity to educate young minds with the richness of our great language Tamil. I am looking forward to collaborating with other teachers and have a pleasant learning experience with the kids from Annai Tamil Academy.

I am Vanitha Manogaran. I am from Chennai and now I live in Florida with my husband and two daughters. I completed my computer science degree at Madras University and I have been IT consulting for 20 years. I began teaching Tamil since 2017 in Illinois and I recently moved to Florida. I love to spend time with children, and I am excited to continue teaching Tamil via online through Annai Tamil Academy.

My name is Iniya Chandrakumar, and I am currently a junior at WVHS. Despite being born in the US, I've been learning Tamil throughout my life. I officially began attending Tamil school in fourth grade and continued until my sophomore year of high school. I also have prior experience working as a tutor. By volunteering at Annai Tamil Academy, I hope to become more connected with my culture and inspire the next generation to do so as well. 

I am Malathi Vijayakumar. I was born in Tamilnadu, Vellore. My passion towards Tamil, lead me to pursue Master's Degree in Tamil Literature. I was a Tamil teacher in India for a year. I am extremely happy that I can continue being a Tamil teacher in America. When I was pursing Master's degree in Tamil, my father motivated me and now my husband is giving me the same motivation. I am thankful for both. Excited to be part of Annai Tamil Academy. தமிழ் வாழ்க வளர்க !!

I am Sanjith Jothi Bala. I am a current junior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. I live in Buffalo Grove, IL. I started attending Tamil Palli in 4th grade and continued until 9th grade. I am very passionate about learning Tamil's roots and its beautiful culture. I am even more excited that I get to pass on that knowledge to the newer generation through Annai Tamil Academy. வாழ்க தமிழ்!". 

I am Pragathi Vijayakumar a recent graduate from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Psychology and Communications. I also have an Associate in Science in Biology and Nursing Assistant Training. I am an IDPH certified Nursing Assistant working in a renowned Hospital. I always believe in giving back to the community through volunteering at any given opportunity. From food pantry, a peer mentor, dance teacher, to hospital volunteering and more. I grew up in Chennai, India and spoke Tamil predominantly. In school, I studied Tamil as a second language from grade 1 through 10. Tamil being one of the oldest ancient languages in the world, I am proud that I get to read, write, and speak Tamil. I am grateful to my teachers and mother who herself is a scholar in Tamil literature. I want to help youngsters be able to learn Tamil. I am glad to be an admin at the Annai Tamil Academy.  வாழ்க தமிழ் வளர்க தமிழ் !! 

I am Mithushi Varun residing in Aurora, Illinois with my husband and two sons. I completed my schooling and under graduation at Perambalur, with Tamil as my second language all through. I am a trained Carnatic vocalist and I teach Carnatic music.  What started as a fun project of combining my passion for Tamil and Music to promote my son's interest in Tamil, has eventually led me to ATA.  I am eagerly looking forward to supporting ATA in this great journey of imparting Tamil language and its rich culture and heritage to the next generation of kids being raised here in the USA. 

I am Harendra Krishnaa Vijayakumar. I was born in Vellore and lived in Chennai, TN till I moved to the United States for Middle School. I attended Metea Valley High School. Now I am pursuing Computer Science. I am passionate about technology and how it works. I like to tinker with things like drones. I have been a Teacher's Assistant since 2020. My parents have been a strong backbone in my life, my dad taught me the importance of embracing Tamil as well as honesty and my mom has fed me the knowledge required to be proficient in Tamil along with patience. My sister has helped me express and communicate effectively. I would like to thank the people who gave me the opportunity to be a Teacher's Assistant in ATA. I am looking forward to working with students who embrace our Tamil language. 

I am Anandapriya Kathiresan, I live in Palatine for the past 8 years, with my beautiful family, my husband and my 2 kids. I was born in Trichy and did my B.Com major in Ethiraj Chennai. I work as a teacher in one of the after-school program centers in Palatine. On the free time, I volunteer to teach Tamil in ATA and I'm so glad and excited to work with the kids. 

I am Kavitha Subramanian living in Chicago land for past 12 years with my beautiful family. Teaching is my passion and my career from day one after graduating my engineering, I taught college students back then and now being Montessori directress, I work with young children and it’s great opportunity to teach my mother tongue to next generation through Annai Tamil Academy and Happy to be part of ATA team !!

I am Prema Venugopal. I am originally from Vellore and currently reside in Naperville with my husband and daughter. I have an Engineering Degree from TPGIT-Vellore and a MBA from IIT-Delhi. I have been in the corporate world for 18+ years and worked on global engagements across India, EU & US. I am passionate about Tamil, its rich heritage and culture. And I am  extremely happy to be part of this academy as  a mentor to the  next generation.
